What are the benefits of seeing an anxiety/OCD specialist?

1. I'M KNOWLEDGEABLE I went to a Cognitive Behavior Therapy doctoral program that emphasized evidenced-based treatments. After that, I completed a year long post doctoral fellowship where I received advanced training and supervision in treating anxiety & OCD. I use evidenced-based treatment that is supported by science and have been shown to be efficient and effective in treating anxiety & OCD. 2. I'M EXPERIENCED Over 75% of the people I treat have an anxiety disorder or OCD. I spent most of my time helping people just like you. Because I see children, adolescents, and adults, I see the way these conditions show up in all different types of people throughout their lives. I've learned the ins and outs of these conditions. Sometimes in session, people think I'm reading their minds. I promise I'm not a mind reader. I just know a lot about anxiety & OCD! 3. I'M CREATIVE Even though most of the people I treat have anxiety & OCD, they all have different needs, preferences, ways of learning, and ways of understanding - this has taught me to be creative, fun, and flexible in implementing treatment approaches to fit your unique needs. 4. I'M PASSIONATE I love my job! As a specialist, I am able to focus my time and energy on staying up to date on the most current research and cutting edge treatments for your specific problems to make sure you feel better as quickly as possible. I am a member of the International OCD Foundation, the Anxiety & Depression Association of America, and the Philadelphia Behavior Therapy Association.
